Last week I kicked off a 3-part highlight reel of our Italy trip with photos from Rome & Pompeii. Where those two had history, the Amalfi Coast had beauty. It was utterly amazing and more gorgeous than anything I could imagine. I’m so excited to share these photos with you. Hover over the photos to see a bit more detail about some.
The buildings and houses of the Amalfi Coast are built right into the cliffs. Positano wowed us with its beautiful colors.
I missed our pup Sophie way too much while we were away so couldn’t help myself when I saw all the precious pups in Italy.
Our tour guide showed us his two favorite hotels on the Amalfi Coast beginning with Il San Pietro di Positano.
Here is the walkway to the pool area pictured below for our tour guide’s other favorite hotel in Amalfi: the Hotel Caruso. Don’t worry, this is just where Mark Zuckerburg got married. And Hotel Caruso boasts an infinity pool right into the ocean overlooking a cliff. Purely amazing! The Amalfi Coast and Sorrento in particular is known for its citrus. We got to visit an organic lemon grove in the city where they also experiment with grafting orange branches onto the lemon trees. The amount of lemons everywhere is unreal!
Sorrento’s marinas have fishermen, fishing supplies and boats everywhere. It’s a sweet, sleepy fishing town full of color.
This is ancient Sorrento visible from the street above.
Our hotel Palazzo Abagnale discovered that my sister-in-law was celebrating her birthday while in Sorrento, so they surprised her one morning with a delicious cake.
Visiting the famous “Blue Grotto” in Capri was amazing, but what amazed me about the same amount was the process of getting each tourist in and out of the boat and into the dinghy to go inside the Blue Grotto.
We had sandals handmade by Antonio of Antonio Viva: L’arte del Sandalo Caprese. He has been crafting custom sandals since 1958. He tailors them specifically to your foot, size and preference and does an amazing job (and his team provides incredible service!)
We took the chair lift to the top of Anacapri – the views were amazing and the ride through the clouds was pretty cool too.
I’m ready to head back to the Amalfi Coast right about now after looking at all of these photos again. Can’t wait to share from Tuscany later! Arreverderci!
