When I randomly received a Facebook message from Spencer, a buddy of my husband’s from medical school, I knew something was up. He told me he would be proposing that weekend and would love me to capture the proposal. Although I wasn’t available the evening he had planned to pop the question, I still was so excited he was getting engaged! Spencer is not only super kind, but also hilarious, and intelligent to boot! Then when I saw he was proposing to a friend from my early elementary days, I got even more excited. It’s been nearly 20 years since we’ve seen each other, but after reconnecting with Holly, I can’t imagine a better match for Spencer!

We even commented that we wish we lived closer to each other so we could hang out while our guys are busy with residency. I mean, anyone who wants to begin their engagement session at an ice cream shop is good in my book! We visited Butter & Cream, a local ice cream shop in Downtown Decatur, to start and strolled through town, passing no. 246, the spot where they had their first date! Then we finished out the evening at Piedmont Park before Holly & Spencer met up with both of their families for a big family dinner. How fun is that?! I love when couples make a date or big evening of their engagement session! Such a fun evening & I can’t wait for their Fernbank Museum of Natural History wedding in December! And now I just need to get back to Decatur to try some of Butter & Cream’s amazing flavors!
