They say rain on your wedding day is good luck – and if that’s true, then Emily & Brent will be showered with luck for the rest of their days! I was so honored to celebrate their intimate wedding day with them this past weekend at the most stunning of venues in Lowcountry South Carolina, right outside of Hilton Head Island – the Oldfield Club.

Truly, I can’t imagine a more “up-for-anything” couple than Emily & Brent! A rainy wedding day can be really magical if the couple is positive & flexible, and these two were up for the challenge! They drove all the way from Birmingham, AL for their destination wedding & a little Hurricane Joaquin wasn’t going to dampen their fun! In fact, the first thing Emily said when I arrived was, “Hey, I got this umbrella so we could take pictures in the rain! I don’t want to miss out on the beautiful spaces to shoot here!” If you look up “Ideal Rainy Day Bride” in the wedding dictionary, Emily will be pictured. They absolutely rocked their portraits and wow, it was beyond beautiful!

From Emily’s amazing style, to the gorgeous florals, to Emily & Brent’s sweet love, I couldn’t have fallen head over heels quicker for this couple & their day. And quite literally, too, this klutz may or may not have totally slipped & eaten it on the dock while shooting couples portraits in the rain! The backdrop of moss covered trees, Lowcountry tides and an intimate ceremony on the covered patio and dancing the night away was the perfect way to spend a rainy day wedding. So thrilled to share my favorites here!

Emily & Brent, I’m most grateful for you two and your positivity, flexibility and trust in me to capture your day & the joy you share! You both kept us laughing and smiling and reminded me that despite weathering the storms, marriage is so worth it and simply the best when you’re under the umbrella together.
