About 6 years ago I decided that a summer would be best spent studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain instead of getting an internship at home. I absolutely adore travel and find that I’m so inspired by different foods, cities, cultures, experiences and people, so Spain (as Public Relations and Spanish major) seemed to be a great fit. Little did I know that not only would I fulfill a few course credits and gain some life experiences, but I also would meet my sweet husband, Chip, among the winding streets of Barrio Santa Cruz & indulging gelato at Rayas during the hot (hot) Sevillan summer heat.

We spent hours chatting on the patio, drinking Rioja at the tiny wine bar next to our apartment complex and enjoying authentic Spanish tapas. Ever since then, we’ve loved all things Spanish & tapas, so when I heard that the owner of one of our favorite restaurants in town, TakoSushi, was opening a Spanish-inspired bodega right down the street from our house, we couldn’t be more excited. Coffee, tapas, drinks, charcuterie and a little market to come, I was sold. Shortly thereafter, the owner contacted me to shoot their space & future food and work alongside my girl Mattie of Green Tie Studio, and the excitement doubled. Today is their first official day of serving coffee & breakfast in the space (on the lower level of Surrey Center for you locals out there!) and I am so excited to have this right down the street. I can’t wait for them to expand to drinks, food & more to not only shoot, but enjoy, as well! Here are a few of my favorite shots of the space & the father-son team from our first session!
