Well, friends, it’s officially official!

If you’ve been following our journey for a while, you know that Chip is a medical resident training to be a Urologist. He is currently finishing out residency year 4 of 5, and we’ve been in conversation with his dream job… And come summer 2019, we will officially be moving back to what feels like “home” – Athens, GA – for Chip’s career! We are so thrilled and honored to announce that Chip will be joining Athens Area Urology after finishing his residency.

This just so happens to be the practice Chip rotated with during medical school – and where he discovered he wanted to pursue urology as a career in the first place. Now, it feels a bit surreal that after 8 years of medical school & training, we only have a little over 1 year left before he will be a physician at such an amazing practice in Athens, GA. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! And a super exciting one at that!Medical Resident Signing for a Job as a Urologist in Athens, GA

Thank you!

To each and every one of you who have cheered us on over the years, thank you so much for your endless support! We could not have done it without you! Chip has done a good work, and I couldn’t be more proud of who he is as a doctor & person. There are still many days, 8 years in, that I am blown away at what he does on a daily basis. Once he finishes his training, we can’t wait to get back to one of our favorite cities in the world:

  • where we both went to college
  • where we spent much of our dating relationship (save where we met in Sevilla, Spain!)
  • where Chip attended medical school
  • where we got engaged
  • where we lived during our first few years of marriage
  • where I learned all about communications & started pursuing photography
  • where we still visit often for weekend “getaways”
  • and so much more

During our 7/8 years in the Classic City, it truly became home… and we’re thankful to call it home for the long term, as well!

Plus, it’s only a little over an hour from both sets of parents, and our my Atlanta people! So grateful for that!

One more year in Augusta, GA

In the mean time, we are so grateful to have one more year in Augusta, celebrating this season well, and enjoying the amazing friendships we’ve cultivated here. It’s going to be very bittersweet leaving this town that has meant so much to us and been so pivotal in both of our careers & our lives! But great news… Athens is only about 1.75 hours from Augusta, so I’ll certainly be back!

For those of you wondering what this means for my business… it means very little, actually! In fact, we will still be so close to Augusta that I intend to return for photo shoots in the upcoming years. You can’t get rid of me that easy, Augusta! But don’t be surprised if you live in Augusta, and I bribe you with homemade meals & treats in exchange for a cozy bed and puppy snuggles.

Celebrating what’s to come in Athens, GA!

Join me in congratulating Chip on what’s to come & wishing him the best in his final year + a few months of residency! We can’t wait for all that’s in store & to bring you along for the fun! Couldn’t be more grateful, humbled, and honored.

Go Dawgs!

And PS: huge shoutout to Aysegul Sanford of Foolproof Living for teaching me a simple way to make my first GIF!
