From their parents being dear friends in the 80s in New York City, to travels to South Africa for her parent’s mission work, to both families relocating to Tennessee, and finally the children ending up at the University of Georgia in Athens (where Hannah graduated with a degree emphasizing in visual journalism, woot woot!), the Burke & Schachinger family has long & amazing legacy. To say this wedding day was a joy for these families is an understatement. With so much history behind them (like Jon’s mom helping Hannah’s mom get ready on their wedding day!), it truly felt like this wedding was one big happy family of 200 people full of so much love for Hannah & Jon! I can’t imagine a better way to begin my 2016 wedding season.
With Hannah’s sentimental heart, every detail was so perfectly thought out: from her grandmother’s monogrammed fur shawl, to her grandfather reading from the same Bible used in his own wedding, to the traditional Irish bagpiper as the couple walked down the aisle hand-in-hand as husband in wife, to a private moment during the ceremony where each parent gave his or her blessing and prayed over the couple, this wedding day brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Not to mention, Jon is the brother-in-law of my dear friend, Marilisa of Martel Event, who has been such a key player in making Lauren Carnes Photography a reality! Marilisa alongside The Engine Room and Hannah, Jon & their families truly made this day a dream come true. The color palette of the day, with the fabulous, lush bouquets from Stylish Stems, and the amazing painted brick at the venue created a perfect backdrop for their day, and I was so honored to be a part.
Hannah shows such grace and joy in everything she does, and Jon is such an easy-going and fun presence. I immediately felt as though I was part of their family joining in a day of pure joy and true celebration for the unity of marriage. I had such a tough time choosing images to include on the blog because each moment was special and beautiful in its own way! I’m excited to share!
Hannah & Jon, thank you for showing us all what a marriage centered on Jesus looks like. Your love and joy is inspiring & His love radiates through you both. I’m so thrilled to see the adventures in store for you both, and truly honored to have been a part of your day. I wouldn’t have wanted to kick off my season any other way! Now, if you’ll just adopt me into the Burke/Schachinger family, that would be great. 😉
