After rescheduling due to Hurricane Florence derailing our original engagement session date, and then coordinating all the schedules, this engagement session at White Point Gardens, in downtown Charleston, and finally overlooking Shem Creek did not disappoint. When I first connected with Mallory & David, I was so thrilled to hear of their engagement – while I didn’t know them personally, Mallory’s sister & her husband are friends of mine and Chip’s from medical school. In fact, Chip lived with Lance (Mallory’s brother-in-law) before we got married… and asked me to do the honor of capturing their proposal at the Biltmore in Asheville, TN years ago. If you want a peek at their special day (and my old blog before I officially began my photography business!), pop over here! So fun and such an honor now to be able to capture another Walters girl!
Mallory & David are absolutely wonderful and SO sweet, & photographing their love in a city that means so much to them & this season of life was so special. Mallory is in PA school in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina, and David in medical school in Augusta at the Medical College of Georgia/Augusta University Health. With a long distance relationship that began years ago with a first date at the high school Sadie Hawkins dance, these two have so many memories together. Most recently they include visiting each other every other weekend in their respective towns: full of exploring & wedding planning! Mallory & I dreamed up some of her favorite spots for an ideal combo & showcase of all the beauty Charleston has to offer! I loved stealing them away for some beautiful lowcountry trees, coastal views, & quaint streets… and am so excited to share a few favorites from their session with you! Now, I absolutely can’t wait to shoot their wedding next May!
