It’s been nearly a year since our incredible family trip with the in-laws to London…

1. How is that even possible?!

2. Can I go back immediately?

I figured it’s been far too long and is time to blog this amazing trip to share with you all!

We truly dream of living in Europe for a stint one day, and if we did, we envision having a flat in London that serves as our home base for people to visit (and fly easily!) and our jumping off point to travel to cities all around… and also as our place to eat endless food from every country you can imagine. While British food isn’t necessarily known for being unbelievable, London is one of the most international food friendly cities ever, and we ate everything from one of the best meals of our lives at Dishoom to authentic Ramen to the restaurant of a chef I love, Ottolenghi, and of course… incredible fish & chips!

I highly recommend the Eating London Food Tours – we do a food tour in every major city we visit. They are led by locals and take you through neighborhoods, and tell you of the historic significance & all the best foodie things of the area. And in between all that food, we walked insane amounts of miles touring through the different areas, sight seeing, and being amazed at the history and endless culture in the city.

Chip had been to London prior to march in a parade in high school, but this was my first time, and I fell in love! And a fun fact: we stayed in an area called Pimlico in an Airbnb… and on one evening walking back from the Tube to our home, we say a crowd gathering in the rain. Because there is no reason people would gather in the rain other than something worth gathering for, we paused… only to discover they were filming The Crown in our neighborhood! It was so fun to watch the filming and recently to see the final product. Hours of filming for literally a 30 second clip. We’ve not seen the full show, but now that we’ve finished The Office, we’re considering starting from the beginning per many recommendations from friends and family!

Side note, the Tube is insanely easy to navigate there. If you’re concerned at all or not a public transportation person (or merely are terrible with directions), even this girl who hardly can read a map was amazed at the simplicity and how the Tube spanned so much of the city!

I’m so excited to share some of my favorite images from the trip – incredible buildings & streets, vibrant tulips all over the city, and so much fun. One huge recommendation: don’t miss Afternoon Tea if you visit London… it’s well worth the experience. We did afternoon tea at The Orangery at Kensington Palace and it was so lovely & such a sweet memory! And after tea, be sure to roam the gardens at Kensington. I loved imagining the Royal family playing at their home… and think that Kate and I would be great friends if we had the chance to meet. I also would like to borrow her entire wardrobe, please.

Finally, if you plan to visit London any time soon, shoot me an email, as I have a 1-week London Travel Itinerary we created that I’d be more than happy to share with you! I know it can be hard to plan for European travel, so I’m always excited to pass along our plans so others can experience the beauty of different cities and cultures too!
