It’s hard to believe here we are kicking off “fall” while still remembering so fondly the sweetness of the summer. One of the most special days of this summer was certainly Sandra & Alex’s wedding – just a month ago! When I first connected with Sandra, I loved hearing of all of the connections we had. Getting married at Trinity on the Hill and growing up there meant that many of my former brides & their families are friends with the Fords. It was so fun to make those connections – and then find that surely enough, they are just as kind as my previous couples (in fact, you’ll even find familiar faces in this post further down!!). Sandra & Alex have grown up together – and not just together… but dancing together. Through meeting teaching Social (a tradition in Augusta for kids to learn to dance!), and later at Sandra’s deb ball, plus college functions, there have been countless dance parties in their relationship. But this party was like no other – these two had such a blast, and even showcased their dance skills during their first dance. I particularly loved Sandra & her dad & brother upholding tradition during the father/daughter dance – where Sandra’s brother cut in for a moment, as did Alex’s sister during the mother/son dance. Sweet moments & sweet memories, for sure! And to add to the fun – the band was the same band that played at Sandra’s debutante ball years ago! A perfect way to celebrate their marriage overlooking the river from North Augusta, SC to Augusta, GA!

Overall, their day paired tradition & elegance with classic simplicity, full of family & friends that mean so much to them. Plus, sweet mementos like Sandra’s grandmother’s handkerchief wrapping her bouquet by Burton Florals added to the sentimentality of the day! Finally, it was so fun to see Alex’s don his Clemson class ring & incorporate it into photos. The class ring at Clemson is a big deal, and I loved the way it added something unique to their detail photos! And, Sandra’s cocktail ring was such a stunner – that something blue! I loved seeing how excited Sandra & Alex were to see each other while she walked down the aisle… and then to take some time together after the ceremony for a few photos before heading to the reception. I’m SO excited to get to share some of my favorites from their day!

Sandra & Alex, such an honor to capture this day for you two as you embark on such an adventure! 2018 is certainly a big year for you both individually & separately – from graduation, to next steps for military for Alex, to new jobs, new experiences, and ultimately, a new life together. What a special blessing it is! Thank you so much for the privilege to document it all & for letting me share in this season with you. I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
