My First Baby Shower!

When we moved to Augusta, GA a little over 4 years ago, I wasn’t quite sure what this season of life would look like… and to be honest, I was nervous. I moved to a new city where I knew very few people, my husband would be working ~80 hours a week, and I decided to launch a business… meaning I’d be working from home (aka, not meeting anyone at an office!). Let’s just say the first year or so was a bit lonely… but slowly but surely, over time, I began to build true, solid friendships here in our little town. Once Rising Tide Society’s TuesdaysTogether kicked off here & my business began growing, I inevitably connected more with the creative & wedding industry here – who over time has become like my little Augusta family.

I could nearly cry thinking about how much I’ve prayed for the opportunity to celebrate this season of life here with these ladies – and for the year of waiting, I didn’t know if that would even be possible! Needless to say, this shower – my first baby shower! – was sweet as can be, and oh so special to celebrate with them all. Annick of Revel Post and Amy of Amy J Owen Photography outdid themselves on every last detail! They were SUCH gracious hosts and thought of literally everything – from the food (and Chick-fil-A nuggets for this CFA loving girl!) to the most amazing decor & hand-lettered pieces, I audibly gasped when I walked in! A greenery inspired shower with all the pretty details & delicious food is definitely the way to my heart (and stomach!). You’ll also see the played the cutest games… one had the ladies guess the name, birthdate, and what Baby C would be like… which was so sweet to hear their guesses (and will definitely help in name decisions, ha!). And the other was so fun – it’s an Emoji game where you have to guess baby and pregnancy related phrases based on a series of emojis. So clever! And Annick’s lettering & design skills certainly came in handy for those! Plus, Amy documented every detail and moment for me – which is truly such a gift! As a photographer, I always want photos – and the fact that I didn’t have to bring my camera along was such a treat to just ENJOY! Every photo you see here is hers!

I am so thankful she captured a few maternity photos of me in my new PinkBlush dress – a fun way to document 27 weeks! Because it’s still in the high 90s here every day, but this shower was in September, I wanted to take advantage of the last bit of summer with a navy watercolor floral sleeveless maternity maxi dress! Plus, y’all… it has POCKETS! I’m so excited to be sharing some of my favorites of their everyday styles, baby shower dresses, and more over the course of my pregnancy as one of their Style Ambassadors!

I absolutely love that their clothes can be worn before, during, and after pregnancy, and this dress is no exception. It was so very comfortable and allowed plenty of room for me to really enjoy all the tasty treats & one of those amazing cupcakes. Also, can you even handle that BABY cupcake display? I am amazed. Leave it to a couple creative ladies to blow us away with their shower planning and decor skills! So grateful Amy snapped a few photos of me to document this season and of the friends who joined!

To each of you who were a part (and those of you who couldn’t be there but were there in heart!) THANK YOU so very much. You are so cherished, and Baby C and I feel so loved and celebrated. I couldn’t be more grateful for the impact you’ve had on me during my time here, and can’t wait for Baby C to meet all of his Augusta aunties!!!
