Dogs are practically humans in our family. If you follow along on my Instagram, you’re bound to realize (quickly) that our yellow lab mix Sophie is the queen of the house. You might wonder where we got that mentality… and there is no doubt that it is from our respective families growing up. Both my husband Chip and I have grown up with dogs from the time we were young, and therefore we treat them like the royalty they are.

So it only seems fitting that we would be visiting my in-laws this weekend to celebrate their new pup’s “Gotcha Day!” Meet Mia, formerly known as Aurora of the Disney Puppies at Labrador Friends of the South! She’s a chocolate lab/coon hound mix, the sweetest little pup and simply perfect! We can’t wait to watch her grow and to have a friend for Sophie to play with when we visit! Here are a few favorites of her first weekend in her “furever” home! And of course, Sophie had to make a couple appearances for good measure.
