A wedding day is a long awaited moment for so many people. For a couple who grew up in the same small town in Alabama, so many were thrilled to see Chelsey & Josh’s big day arrive. With a humble demeanor, Chelsey & Josh never cease to amaze me. To give you an idea, just days before the wedding, Josh received a prestigious award from his company and a couple days after the big day Chelsey aced her final test of pharmacy school. In the midst of successful seasons of life, it was evident that their greatest success in life is each other and their people. These two were completely “present” every moment of the day, Chelsey exclaiming multiple times: “What time is it? I’m so excited for the ceremony to start!”

These two planned a wedding designed to truly celebrate others instead of just themselves. What began as a hunt for a Great Gatsby inspired venue quickly turned into something even better! Upon discovering the most amazing mansion on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA, Da Casa Banana 2, Chelsey & Josh planned a full wedding weekend of fun with the help of Katherine Webster of No Regrets Events. Arriving on Thursday with their entire bridal party & family, they cherished every moment of lakeside fun!

Complete with a stunning lakeside ceremony and a property lined with trees, the officiant said what so many of us were thinking: that every church, cathedral or building in the world is beautiful, but there is something amazing about a wedding set among nature. With about 100 guests (and a precious family of ducks!!) as witnesses, Chelsey & Josh said their “I Do’s” while the rain held off until just after their sparkler exit! How absolutely perfect is that?! I quickly realized just how important each of the attendees was when so many began to arrive who were family or long-time friends from their hometown. Not to mention some little attendees who had some serious dance moves and two of the cutest flower girls I’ve ever seen! Chelsey carried a locket in memory of her grandparents, and celebrated when her other grandparents arrived from hours away! In fact, one of my favorite photos from the evening is below of her grandparents walking hand-in-hand, demonstrating an example of the power of love that lasts.

Chelsey & Josh, I’m so excited to see how your lasting love impacts so many. I have had the pleasure of experiencing your hearts for others in the short amount of time we’ve known each other, and I can’t imagine all that is to come with you two as a team! Thank you for the honor of capturing your day and for welcoming me into the New Brockton club! I felt like family right from the start! Cheers to life being “Better Together!”

What a fun couple! I love that they included a woman on the grooms side. Are we calling this a "groomslady"? I am so excited to see people include everyone important to them and breaking tradition to do so.

  7. Beautiful shots! And I love that inclusion of a groomswoman. I was a bridesman (whatever it’s called) and a friend’s wedding a few years back, and it’s so refreshing to see us finally shaking the genders norms of years past.
