When I saw that Kemper & Charlie were engaged, my first thought was: “Oh I hope I get to shoot that wedding!” See, years ago I first met the Peacock family when I photographed the older daughter, Kathryn’s, wedding at the Augusta Country Club. I fell in love with the Peacock clan, and immediately felt like family. Years have gone by & Kemper and I have become friends through working out at Oxygen Fitness Studio, where she kicks my booty at the barre! So of course when Charlie popped the question, I was beyond thrilled for her & what was to come (yet sad that she’d be moving away from Augusta!). When I heard from them about the plans for their big day in Highlands, North Carolina, I was immediately IN! Not only was it a no brainer, but then I discovered it would be some of my very favorite vendors all traveling from Augusta to Highlands to capture the day. Cote Designs so perfectly executed the incredible vision, design, and florals for the weekend. Cucumber + Mint brought the beauty. I absolutely indulged in some cake from the talented Dianna Tornow (and wait until you see those sugar flowers!!!). Plus, I got to enjoy the day with some new faces like Kate Sasnett of Soiree Catering & Events for coordinating the weekend!
Highlands has always had special meaning for both families. Charlie’s grandparents (who are darling – just wait until you see them!) are members at the Highlands Country Club, and both sets of families have grown up visiting Highlands over the years. It was the perfect fit for their summer wedding… and the blooms throughout the town, and especially at the Country Club showed up in full force. The most special thing about those flowers? Charlie’s grandmother, a master gardener, is one of the people responsible for the garden design at the Club! We loved capturing a few portraits of them in the courtyard she helped plan!
Everything from the incredible mountain weather (that held off on the rain until the very end of our portrait time!!!), to Kemper’s stunning Anne Barge gown & heirloom veil (worn by her great-grandmother, grandmother, mom, & my sister… and now her!), the guys in white dinner jackets, and the lush floral design paired with endless greenery around couldn’t be more gorgeous, and a perfect set-up for Kemper & Charlie. Also, you just have to see Charlie’s first look reaction. It’s one of my favorites of all time including: “I’ve never seen you look this beautiful!” through tears. And don’t worry, friends, he still brought tears while Kemper walked the aisle with her father. I love how Kemper & Charlie love each other & it shows in these photos. I also love how they DANCE! This dance party with Sol Fusion bumped all night long! Truly, one of the most incredible days for such a wonderful couple and two families coming together!
Kemper & Charlie, just thank you. It’s rare I feel as welcomed on a wedding day as I did on your day. You two brought me in just like one of your own, and it’s such a testament to the type of people you are! You love the Lord, love each other, love your people, and love life. I can’t wait to see what this next season and marriage holds for you: from career changes to new cities to being able to literally see each other every day (amazing!) I have no doubt you’re going to be unstoppable. Grateful for you and can’t wait to visit you in the ATL/see you back in the AUG soon!

What a blessing and a privilege it has been to serve as the calligrapher for both of the Peacock girls’ weddings! They were beautiful brides – and part of a wonderful family. The photos are exquisite and capture Kemper and Charlie’s day in perfect detail!
It was absolutely beautiful work! And beautiful weddings/families! Thank you so much, Ann!
